Cars 2 Deals

I went to Smiths this morning and bought Cars 2 Blue ray combo.  I was thrown off and could have got a better deal so here it is for you.

I bought the DVD, 5 pack of Kraft Mac and Cheese, 10 pack Juicy Juice, 10pack Capri sun 100% Juice, Band Aids, Huggies Wipes, Guaze, First Aid Tape, 2 Jumbo pack pull ups.

The DVD was on sale for $23.99.  At the store they have a display that if you buy the DVD, mac and cheese and Juicy Juice you get $7.00 off.  The Juice and mac and cheese total 7.68.  There is a $5 off DVD coupon at www.disneyrewards.com.  You can't use both of these coupons.  So if I were going in right now I would not buy the mac and cheese and juice and just use the $5 coupon from the internet.  I don't think fast.  I am good at figuring out the deals, but not when I am standing in the check out line and they tell me what I had planned isn't going to work.  Anyway I still got a really good deal.  I also bought the 3 first aid products from Johnson and Johnson.  There is $10 rebate when you buy Cars 2 and $10 on select J&J products.  It isn't posted yet but will be at http://www.band-aid.com/fun.  Then I bought the 2 pull-ups and wipes.  I had 2 $2 off pull-ups coupons form www.pullups.com and at https://www.kcc.cr.kimberly-clark.com/downloads/rebate.pdf  there is a rebate for $10 when you buy Cars 2 and $20 worth of kimberly-clark products.  I also got $8 in Catalinas when I check out.  I am pretty sure this is a mistake and it is only suppose to be $5, but I'll take the $8.  Lastly when I bought the mac and cheese there was a peelie for a free 10 pack of capri suns up to $3.50.  The 100% juice is $3.59  I bought it and paid the 9 cents for the 100 % juice but you could get the punch or roaring waters totally free.  I paid a total of $53.61 I have $20 in rebates and $8 in catalinas to use.  That all figured in I spent $25.61.  If I had not bought the mac and cheese and juice and used the $5 off DVD coupon instead I would have paid a total after rebates and catalinas of $16.51.

Summer Vacation

I have planned a cheap vacation for my family this year and I thought I would share the details.  I have bought some of the gift certificates already and thought I would share our plans.

Day 1  we are going to go to Heber, UT and ride the Heber Valley Railroad.  I was able to purchase to $50 gift certificates for $25 each.  (I will post the websites separately on my facebook page)  I am not sure if this offer is still available.  I will have to check.

Then we will be staying at my sister's condo time share that we will pay $200 for up front for 2 nights in a 3 bedroom condo and then go and spend an hour one morning listening to their sales pitch on the time share.  Once we listen to the sales pitch they will give us a $200 Amex gift card.  If you don't know anyone that can get you this deal and are interested I know a couple people that might be able to help you out.

Day 2 and 3 we are going to spend at Lagoon.  I am still working on discounts for that, but I am hoping to be able to do their bounce back special the 2nd day and that at least will make the tickets close to half off.

I need to find a good deal on a motel room or other accomodations for  night 3.

Day 4 we are going to go to the Dinosaur Park in Ogden UT.  I just got tickets for 8 people for $14.40.  It was cheaper to buy 2 of the packages for 4 than it was to buy 1 and pay for the other 2 people.  This deal is still available.

I also got $40 worth of gift certificates for Dee's Family Restaurant for $14  So that will be one of our meals while we are down there.  We will be cooking in the condo and probably doing a picnic at Lagoon so we will only need to eat out a couple of times.

I also bought some discounted tickets to an arcade where we will be able to play laser tag, roller skate, etc.  I will get the details on that later.  Watch my facebook page for a link to the sites I used.

Last Minute Smiths Deals

Sorry this is last minute, but I got some good deals at Smiths tonight on things that probably won't be on sale tomorrow.

Dannon kids yogurts are on sale for $2  there was coupons in the 6/5 SS insert for $1off 1 making each package $1 each.  Plus you get double rewards points on these.

June Grocery Budget $200

June 1
I spent $13.75 today.  Everything I bought was on sale at Walgreens, but they didn't have everything I went for so I went to Wal-Mart and did a price match.  Here's my list.

(2) Nature Valley Granola bars $1.50 each
(1) Big Red Soda (because I took the kids with me)  $1.49
(2) Remmel mascara $1.79 each
(2) Diet Coke (20 oz) $.50 each
(2) Listerine Mouthwash $2.99 each
(2) Zotz candy strips.  $.50 each.  I buy these as filler items.  I had 2 $8 register rewards, but because I had used a coupon on everything else I bought except the Big Red Soda I needed to buy something else to be able to use another coupon.  Walgreens will only let you use 1 coupon per item even if they are register rewards and not for a specific item.  So by buying the $.50 cent candy I was able to use my $8 register reward.
(2) Degree Clinical strength deodorant $2.00 each
(1) Dove Clinical Strength deodarant $3.00
(3) Crackerfuls $1.00 each

My total was $13.75, which may not add up because of the register rewards I used and that I had a toy in there that I didn't include in my list but used part of the register reward for that, but this is the real money I spent on these items.  I also got register rewards to use next time so that is a bonus for next time.

June 2
So between yesterday and today I spent about $13.00 on misc ( mostly junk food) groceries.

June 6, 2011

I spent $17.26 at Walgreens this week.  I got

4(100 ct) Ziploc sandwich bags.  $2.00  (not an awesome deal but a good deal)  I know you can get 500 at Costco for about $8.00.
2 (200 sq ft) Glad Cling wrap $1.49 each
2 Sobe Life waters  $.99 with a $.99 rr each for next time
4 (78 ct) Fixodent Denture tablets.  This is a really good deal on these.  They were $3.99 and there is a $2.00 off 1 coupon in yesterdays paper.   Making the final cost $1.99
2 cans of tuna $.19 each
Black Pepper.  $1.59  I needed to get up over $16 on my first transaction so I could use my last 2 $8 rr before they expired and we were out of pepper so probably not a good deal, but I needed to spend a couple more dollars to get everything else free.
4 Covergirl eyeshadows $1.61 each
7 zotz between the 2 transactions to get my total up over the tax value because coupons can't be applied to sales tax on the first transaction and to add items to my second transaction so I could use my rr.
I did 2 transaction and used $18 in rr.  For a total of $17.26

My total for the month at this point is $44.01.  I am going to do some real grocery shopping in the next day or two since you are probably wondering what we are eating.  We have only eaten out once during the last week though so we are surviving on what I have at the house.

I went to Smith's last week to do some "regular" grocery shopping.  I did a menu for the week and went and picked up some fresh items and some sale items.  I spent $51.93.  Bringing my total for the month to $95.94

I got:
2 free boxes of pasta
Tortillas
2 V8 Fusions
1 6 roll Brawny paper towell
1 12 db roll Quilted Northern TP
1 lb margarine
2 coppertone spray sunblocks
2 gallons milk
2 dz eggs
2 lbs strawberry
apples
loaf of bread
fresh mushrooms
squash
4 packages of lean pockets
saltines
4 Lunchables

I saved 47% which I don't think is too bad considering the produce, milk, and bread that I bought.  I have a few small reciepts to add to this, but I think I am doing pretty good so far.  My husband has been out of town so we have eaten out several times this week so I haven't used most of the stuff I bought for my menu.  I have got to start cooking again.

Free Books for Kids 5 and under SW Wyoming

United Way of Southwest Wyoming has a project going right now that you can get a free book sent to your child every month until their 5th birthday.  The project is called Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.  There is a short form that you have to fill out and send in.  These are available at the White Mountain Library.  The brochure is on the shelves with the kids audiobooks as you walk into the children's section.  As far as I can tell there is no way to register online.

More Free Pasta

The SS Insert for 5/15 had a coupon for $1/1 Garden Delights pasta.  This is on sale at Smiths today for $.99 and is part of the buy 10 get $5 off sale so if you buy 10 participating products they are $.49.  With the coupon it is a $.51 money maker.
